Ana'Lea (Anna--Lay) Amadán Seeker and Bloodmarked, 29 years old
Tired of her captive life and betraying her own people, she helps a young Amadán Couple get their child to safety. Ana'Lea believes that by helping this child, The Bloodmarked my finally be saved from their persecution.

Arihosiar Bladehorse: ("Ar-ee-hoh-see-ar"): Bloodmarked Amadán changeling and general trouble-maker, 15 years old
Also known as Arih, this Amadán changeling is one of the main characters. He is apparently the Savior of the Amadán people, but being cocky, over-confident and lacking all sense of circumspection deems him an unlikely candidate. Of course being the adopted son of the richest couple in Clepsydrae doesn’t help this at all. But Arih is also loyal (often to the point of over protectiveness) and brave (sometimes to the point of stupidity) so that perhaps with a little guidance this brash fifteen year old pyromaniac dork really can save his race...

James Periculi: ("Per-ick-oo-lee"): Human misfit and assistant of the general trouble-maker, 15 years old
The other half of the devious duo, James is a bit more cautious and prudent than his best friend. However, this misfit hasn’t lost all sense of mischief. Although he is the level-headed one, James never backs down from one of his friend's crazy schemes. Unlike Arih who skips Academy schooling for fun, James finds joy in learning new things and works hard in his Father's book shop. Like his friend, he has certain attributes which causes him to separate himself from the community.

Blanche Periculi: ("Per-ick-oo-lee"): Human helpless romantic, 19 years old
A colorful and easily lovable character, Blanche enjoys pestering her brother James' best friend, often coming close to being set on fire in the process. She is a strong young woman with a dream for her future than includes a handsome half-elf son of a Clepsydrae Lord. She loves her brother very much, and doesn’t mind protecting and caring for him during this rough time in his life.

Kimper Orphea – (“Or-fee-a”) Human Song mage, Academy student, 14 years old
Kimper is a lovely and talented young daughter of a Council man who can charm anything with her voice and has an obvious crush on James Percuili. She is an overly bright character who always trying to find the silver-lining on dark clouds. She lost her father in a horrible fire that broke out when she was seven, and although she was young she keeps a childlike image of him in memory.

Danika Phoenix (“Dan-ni-ka”) Half-Fire sprite, Academy student, 15 years old
Best friend of Kimper, Danika is the exact opposite of her level headed friend. Although they say it is from her Fire sprite blood, Dani, like her class rival Arih, is hot-tempered, slightly cocky and always ready for a fight. With Arih near-by she never has to look long.

Anejia - Gypsy-Human, Academy Student, 15 years old
Unlike Dani and Kimper, Anejia is neither quiet and open or Cocky and brash. For most of the Story, Anejia stays an observer, giving her opinion and assistance only when needed. However, she is a healer and filled with a lot of traditional wisdom that always seems to come from her at just the right moment.

Father Lawrence Human, Head Priest of Clepsydrae, 56 years old
Father Lawrence is a smart, energetic Father who takes an active role in the lives of his sheep, especially his Youth. Due to a promise made to James' mother, he keeps a special eye on both him and Arih. He is an incredibly well-tempered man who can take even the worst of Arih's pranks with a smile.

Zepher Montague Half-Sea Elf, Blanche's Beau, 21 years old
Zepher is a well mannered son of an old family. His mother was a beautiful Sea-elf who fell in love with his father. He is a strong young man who is both overly patient and kind. He is seeing Blanche, secretly at her request, but most of Clepsydrae knows anyway.

Jacob Percuili ("Per-ick-oo-lee"): Human, James and Blache's Father, 44 years old
Ever since the death of his beloved wife, Jacob has been slightly outside the world. He leaves most of running the book shop to James and Blanche and stays in the workshop working on commissions for book repairs. Very forgetful and out of it, but a sweet man who loves his children very much.

Brother Cerberus Human, Priest of Clepsydrae, 52 years old
The Priest under Lawrence, Cerberus is not half a patient as the Father and disagrees with the way he handles James and Arih. Strict and unforgiving, Both Arih and James know to stay out of Cerberus' way when pulling mischief or even Father Lawrence cannot save them from punishment.
